Westerner Days 2024 Wraps Up with Unforgettable Moments

Westerner Days 2024 came to a triumphant close last night, concluding with an epic fireworks display that lit up the sky and marked the end of an extraordinary event. Despite the massive heat wave, with temperatures soaring to a 33 degrees, attendees flocked to the festivities, making memories that will last a lifetime.
This year’s event wasn’t just a celebration, it was an explosion of community spirit! With a mind-blowing variety of activities, people of all ages raved that it was the best one yet. From the sizzling pancake breakfasts to the creative “Saddle Up and Decorate” contest, the energy was contagious! The entire Red Deer community, and even folks from surrounding areas, came together to create an unforgettable experience that fostered a true sense of unity.
The North American Pony Chuckwagon and Chariot Races Results were highly anticipated. Darren Twerdochlib was awarded the Chariot Champion with an overall time of 379.47 seconds, sponsored by Parkland Nursery & Landscape Services Ltd. Riley Braaten emerged as the Chuckwagon Champion with an overall time of 381.19 seconds, sponsored by Expert Security Systems. Braaten also won the $2500 Dash for Cash presented by Marshall Construction. The Best Dressed Wagon was awarded to Levi Cretney. We are grateful for the generous support from Bettenson’s Sand & Gravel, Horsin’ Around, and Marshall Construction for supporting these awards.
