Show benefits farmers, consumers, exhibitors and the Central Alberta business community

(Red Deer, Alberta – November 17, 2015) The 32nd Agri-Trade Equipment Expo took place at Westerner Park last week. For four days, farmers, agribusiness leaders, and local central Albertans explored the newest equipment, technology, and services the agriculture industry has to offer.

“We saw 28 000 people visit Agri-Trade this year. That is up 4000 people from 2014!” says Show Manager, Dianne Smirl. “Exhibitor booths were always busy and there was something for everyone who attended whether they wanted to meet a sprayer expert, see the latest app technology, play in a pink tractor, or do their Christmas shopping in the Marketplace.” During the show, the top three Ag Innovation award winners presented their award winning innovations. Long-time exhibitor, the Alberta Canola Producers Commission (ACPC), comments that this was one of their best years at the show. “This event continues to evolve, grow, and improve – not just for us as exhibitors, but for the attendees coming through the doors. People always come back to see what’s new,” says Rick Taillieu, ACPC Grower Relations and Extension Manager. “We had some great conversations with farmers and consumers this week, the traffic was steady and every conversation valuable.”

“I appreciate the details at this show, like the bagpiper and Remembrance Day ceremony,” says farmer attendee Kelly McIntyre who traveled from Fairview, Alberta to take in the show.

Local businesses also noticed a positive impact from the show. “We most definitely did see an increase in our sales for the week and a local event such as AgriTrade provided a great platform for us to introduce our brand to an even broader demographic, and meet the people involved in local industry,” says Amanda Keip, of Meathead TFD, Red Deer.
