April 12, 2020 | Red Deer, AB – As Westerner Park refocuses the organization, they are reigniting their emphasis on volunteerism. A Volunteer Advisory Committee has been created to help support Westerner Park in achieving our strategic goals and will be recruiting for several positions.
Westerner Park’s volunteer mission is to ensure volunteers feel rewarded for their effort, enjoy their time and want to continue their service. They provide a clear understanding of the motivation of volunteers and ensure volunteer efforts are effectively and efficiently used to meet the goals of the organization.
The new Volunteer Advisory Committee will be responsible for providing the successful delivery of a sustainable volunteer program with a primary focus on coordinating with Westerner Park staff in the program's creation, development and organization.
“We engage the community through volunteerism which provides our organization with a broader perspective and bolsters our expertise,” says Christine Lindsay, Workforce Manager, “Every single volunteer will have purpose and will be recognized as we know and understand the value of their time and effort to our organization.”
Volunteer Advisory Committee membership will consist of the following positions: Community Representative, Event Delivery & Venue Operations Representative, Marketing Representative, Client Services Representative, Volunteer Services Representative, Food & Beverage Volunteer Representative and Guest Services Representative.
